My Approach

At IR Psychotherapy, my approach to therapy is grounded in the idea that every person is unique and has different needs when it comes to achieving mental health wellness. That's why I take a holistic, integrated, and collaborative approach that treats the whole person, not just their symptoms. With my guidance, clients will be able to work towards a healthier, happier life.

 Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on how we interact with others in different environments and relationships. It's designed to help us cope with sudden, intense surges of emotion like stress, regulate our emotions, and improve our relationships with others. Through DBT we can identify our strengths and build on them, as well as identify thoughts, beliefs, and assumptions that might be making life harder and learn different ways of thinking.

 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT aims to help people understand how their thoughts impact their emotions and actions. The idea behind CBT is that by changing negative or distorted thought patterns, individuals can improve their mental health and reduce symptoms of psychological disorders. By learning coping strategies and developing healthier thought patterns, CBT can help individuals feel more in control of their emotions and behaviours.

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT  helps you identify, understand, and manage your emotions in healthy ways, so that you can relieve distress, communicate more effectively, and overcome challenges in life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI helps individuals deal with any ambivalent feelings and insecurities they may have so that they can find the motivation they need to change their behaviour.
